Ep.30 Women Leadership
Wednesday Nov 10, 2021
Wednesday Nov 10, 2021
In today’s episode, I speak to Moloko Komane an analyst by trade and currently working as the Head of Business Advisory for Africa at Multichoice. Moloko is also a Property Investor, specializing in student accommodation, an Executive Director for an organization called SAWIL a vehicle for women leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals in Africa seeking to advance their careers through leadership training. Today we speak about women leadership, especially in the workplace. Key takeaways from this insightful conversation include but are not limited to the realization that; society has significantly evolved, and it needs to keep evolving in order to allow women to take leadership roles and have the same opportunities as their male counterparts; there is still discrimination against women, specifically black women, in the corporate space and we need to find ways to overcome that and one of the ways to fight this is by understanding the importance of being confident and assertive in the corporate space as a woman, as well as regularly sharpening your skills and upgrading your qualifications to fit the role you intend to take on. Have resilience, perseverance and refuse to take no for an answer. Also important is investing in a mentor or sponsor to help you along the way.

In today’s episode, I speak to Rapelang about the generational money series. Rapelang is a Serial Tech Entrepreneur who truly appreciates the fact that one can create just about anything in the tech environment to help improve the social outcomes. She is also a partner and founder in the following companies; Partner at FFWD Innovation, Founder Rekindle Learning; Fast Company Maverick and a member of the Young Global Leader of World Economic Forum.
Our major topic of discussion is that you can achieve and do more if you stand on a foundation laid by those who came before you, you need to be specific about what you want to accomplish and what you envisage for yourself, whether it's a career or life in general. In the same breath, consider what you are ready to forego in order to achieve that vision or objective. The necessity of teaching future generations how value is created cannot be stressed enough, every parent/guardian should teach their younger generations. How you care for your surroundings, your assets, yourself, and other aspects of your life has a ripple effect in other areas of your life.

In today’s episode, I speak to Dr Miranda, aka PropDocMom. She runs a property mentorship programme where she offers guidance on property purchases, she is a property Podcaster and Co-host of Property Magicians as well as a property investor. We talk about what generational wealth means to her and why most families don't remember their forefathers' names because they didn't leave anything behind. We discuss how older children in most black families take on the role of parent to their younger siblings. According to Dr. Miranda, your degree is merely there as a first business; it helps you put together some funds to start your second business and so on and so on…a degree on its own does not generate any generational riches.

In today's episode, I chat to Vangile Makwakwa, the founder of Wealthy Money, Co-founder of a real estate Podcast called Property Magicians, and a published author, to name a few of the many hats she wears. Vangile is passionate about helping people heal their ancestral money trauma so that they are able to unlock their inner money guru to be successful.
When the subject of money and generational wealth is brought up, most of us experience a range of emotions. So what is generational wealth? Is being 'money smart' always about money? Or does it also have something to do with one’s upbringing, your emotions/feelings towards money, your traumas, and everything in-between ?
Handling money, or money management is more than just saving and setting up your pension or retirement plans or funeral plans. Money is broad and multidimensional. I believe this episode will greatly shift your perspective on money and everything you think you know about money.

Ep.24 Transitioning from the Corporate World into Business
Wednesday Sep 08, 2021
Wednesday Sep 08, 2021
What do transitions mean to you? Transitions take many forms, they can happen when you relocate to another city, get a promotion, leave a job because it’s the wrong fit for you, or move to another workplace for a better role and benefits.
However, in today's episode, we discuss the transition when one decides to leave the corporate world entirely because things aren't working out as they may have hoped. What is key to take away from this episode is that change is never easy, but one should always be willing to take the risk and see where it takes them. If where you are does not bring you any joy, look for something else to do and pursue it. Always keep a lifelong learner attitude- learn new skills and keep evolving in everything you do.

Ep. 22 Creating Your Own Path In Life
Wednesday Aug 11, 2021
Wednesday Aug 11, 2021
In today’s episode, we talk about creating your own path in life. We define what it means to create your own path. We discuss how it is important to step out of your comfort zone even when it's scary and feels uncomfortable. When you are charting your own path, embrace where you are in your journey, so that you are able to move forward with your vision. We are encouraged to not be afraid to reach out to the people who have walked the path before us, there is someone who is always willing to share their knowledge and experiences with you. Believe in yourself, even when nobody else does, and always take care of your mental health when needed, it's important.
